UKGold is
committed to protecting its customers' privacy and the security of any personal
data it collects. We strictly adhere to the requirements of UK Data Protection
legislation and the purpose of this statement is to explain what personal
information we collect and why, and how we may use it.
When placing an order, we need to be supplied with a customer's name, address,
phone number, email address and payment details. Without this we would be unable
to process and fulfil an order and during the order process, customers have the
option of withholding certain personal details that are non-essential to the
order system.
By agreeing to use our service, customers agree that we can use the personal
information that is provided in order to update them about service updates and
changes and any new products and services that we introduce.
For our part we undertake not to sell, rent or exchange any personal information
we hold with any third party for commercial or other reasons beyond that which
is required for verification of the customer's identity for the purpose of
debit/credit card validation.
We have strict security systems and procedures in place to prevent unauthorised
disclosure of customers' personal information in accordance with UK Data
Protection legislation. We do not collect sensitive information about customers
beyond what is knowingly provided, and in order to check the accuracy of and
update the data stored on our database, customers can log into the 'Contacts and
Billing Details' section of their myUKGold Customer Control Panel.
In common with normal business procedure, UKGold uses 'cookies' stored on each
customer's computer to assist in the log in to the myUKGold Customer Control Panel.
Cookies are small data files that are sent from our system via the web browser
to a folder that already resides on the customer's computer. UKGold cookies are
harmless and if cookies are blocked by the customer's system it will not
'remember' the log in details, which will have to be typed-in in full every time
the customer logs in.
As part of the debit/credit card validation process, the customer's bank or
credit card processor may require us or the customer to verify personal details.
We can and will only ever provide the information mentioned above that has
already been provided to us by the customer. In the event that this results in
non-validation or non-approval of a customer's application it will be the
customer's responsibility to refer to the bank or credit card processor in
question and not UKGold.
Customers should contact
